@Cleo阿 straight: MUJI soft cushion

  • Where to buy: MUJI
  • Starting price: 150 yuan

I only have one word to describe this cushion – as comfortable as a hug.

I have been cultivating MUJI cushions for a long time. One time when I was visiting an offline physical store, I passed by a shelf and saw a lot of soft things. I couldn’t help but reach out and touch them. When I touched them, I was surprised: “What is so comfortable! It turns out to be a big cushion.”

社区速递 162 | MUJI 靠垫、中兴路由器与派友们的长假吃灰装备 – 少数派

But I waited until the store had a discount to buy it. The original price was 198 yuan, and it was 150 yuan after discount.

MUJI’s cushions come in several fabric categories and different sizes. It took me a while to decide which one I wanted, mainly considering the purpose and usage scenarios I wanted.

I must say that although this product is called a cushion, in addition to being a cushion, I think it is also a perfect pillow. The cushions on the market are usually relatively regular and stiff in shape and not easy to hug, while the pillows are usually in special shapes and not easy to lean on. But this MUJI cushion is really comfortable to hold. Its most outstanding advantages are the touch of the surface fabric and the softness of the filling. After looking at the material description, its surface fabric is made of 90% polyester fiber + 10% elastic fiber, and the filling is made of 100% polyester fiber. With my limited knowledge, I can’t see what’s particularly great about this material, but I’ve touched many pillows, and it’s really hard to beat the feel of this MUJI one.

It is not only very easy to touch, but also has a special wrapping feeling, perhaps due to the stretchability of the surface fabric. When pressed, the deformation of the pillow is not rapid mechanical, but linear and soft, and there is a subtle rebound force that responds to your applied force. In addition, the cotton inside is very soft. Whether you lean on it or hold it, it can fit the body well and fill the empty gaps in the human body. Leaning on it is like lying on a cloud, and holding it is like feeling a hug. Especially when you use it in an air-conditioned room, it won’t be very hot but still maintains a light warmth, so comfortable that you’ll fall asleep immediately!

This pillow comes in three sizes: large, medium and small. The largest is 55 × 40 × 20 cm flat, the medium is 35 × 35 × 35 cm round, and the small is 49 × 22 × 15 cm long. Colors include camel, light beige, smoky green, charcoal gray, and new yellow, blue, and mint green.

According to my own use needs, the long type is more suitable to be placed on a chair as a cushion. I want to place it on the sofa for half-lying and resting, so I chose the largest size. The color is to match my green sofa. I originally wanted to buy mint green, but I found that the new yellow is more amazing. This yellow is actually between yellow, green, and beige. It is a low-saturated color among the colors, and there is color difference in the photos. I used the traditional Japanese color (Japanese color) for comparison. It is this “steamed maroon” (MUSHIKURI). It is completely versatile and can be matched with green, yellow, and brown colors. It perfectly matches my sofa. Since I got it, I have been sitting on the sofa for longer.

Because this cushion is so popular, MUJI has launched a cooling cushion. I tried it and it was indeed cool to the touch. It is suitable for holding in the summer without getting hot. However, the surface fabric does not have the soft and delicate touch as I described above. So in the end I gave up the new cooling cushion and chose the classic soft cushion. I am very satisfied with this choice. I give this new gadget an A+++!

@阿飞fay: ZTE ZTE Wi-Fi 7 router BE7200Pro+

  • Where to buy: JD.com
  • Starting price: 427 yuan

The network at home used to be mobile 100M+, which was really unbearable. This time I upgraded to 1000M broadband. However, because the previous router used Asus AC86U Wi-Fi 5, the network master tested it after installation and found that the wired network could barely run at full speed, and the wireless network was basically stuck at 6 to 700 Mbit/s. It was not running at full speed, which made me feel very disadvantaged.

So the first reaction was to upgrade the router, but ASUS routers are still a bit expensive. In fact, when I first chose ASUS, I focused on its playability, such as its Merlin firmware, plug-in ecosystem, and various custom settings. The Apple TV at home was first used by ASUS to watch streaming media. Later, the Apple TV app became more and more mature, and the demand for routers faded away. Playability becomes a decoration once it is no longer used. And another member of the family always complains that the network is unstable🤔, and there are indeed reports online that there will be interruptions in the network.

Occasionally I saw someone saying that ZTE routers are stable and affordable, which became the simple reason for me to choose it.

The first thing I noticed was the ZTE Xantian BE7200 Pro+, Wi-Fi 7, and two 2.5G network ports. To run full Gigabit broadband, the WAN port of the router must also start at 2.5G, otherwise the bottleneck will be stuck on the router. Asus AC86U only has a Gigabit port. Running full Gigabit is the limit itself, and it will drop to 800 or 900 with a little loss.

There are actually two models, 6800 Pro + and 7200 Max. Compared to the 7200, the 6800 has one less USB interface. I need to use this USB interface to connect a mobile hard drive and use it as a home LAN disk. It can play movies and music and use Apple TV software (Infuse, VidHub, etc.) to build a home library. I can’t use the performance of the 7200 Max, and it also has an e-sports ticker display. I don’t like it very much, so I skipped it.

The first thing I got was a speed test. Connect the laptop to the wired connection and go out from the LAN port of the router. The measured speed is about 940Mbps, which is normal. Wireless is a bit interesting. When iPhone 16 is connected to Wi-Fi 7, the handshake rate is 2400Mbps, but the actual measured speed only hovers at more than 800 Mbps. It can occasionally touch 900 but it is not stable. At first I thought it was a setting issue, so I turned off dual-band integration and locked the 160MHz bandwidth, but the improvement was limited.

However, if the wireless speed is less than Gigabit, it may not be a problem with the router. The iPhone’s Wi-Fi chip itself has various limitations under Wi-Fi 7. In addition, the external network speed test is greatly affected by the fluctuation of the operator’s nodes. It is meaningless to worry about the last few dozen megabytes. In real daily use, it is just for watching videos, downloading, and playing games, so the 100 MB gap should not be felt. I have been using it for more than a month now, and there has been no inexplicable interruption like before. The Wi-Fi signal is always full, which is a bit boringly stable. However, the playability of ZTE’s router is almost zero. It cannot flash third-party firmware. The plug-in ecosystem is almost non-existent. The settings interface has everything it needs, but that’s it. If you still retain the habit of fiddling with routers in the early years, ZTE will most likely make you feel constrained. It’s more like a “network tool”, install it, set it up, and then forget it exists. If you are like me and want to upgrade your router from the perspective of a “outage victim”, then ZTE’s stability is indeed worth the price. After all, a router that has no sense of existence is a good router.

A hot debate

In the 301st issue, one group discussed “What digital equipment did you bring with you for this long vacation that you didn’t take out during the whole trip?” 》, a total of 462 friends participated enthusiastically, thank you very much!

Chao Ming (+21) I am reminded of the famous meme in the circle: wearing a SLR 📷 and finally holding up my mobile phone to take pictures.jpg

Unit 1 backup pilot (+20) I am 35 years old and still in the photography enthusiast stage, but my physical strength and energy are definitely not as good as when I was in my early twenties. I thought about it and brought an A7M5 with me on this National Day trip, paired with my most used 70-200GM2. I used a lens (I prefer to use a telephoto lens) and a photography vest to take pictures of chipmunks in the Tangwanglinhai Stone Scenic Area in Yichun. At this time, the camera and telephoto lens can focus quickly and blur the background. Afterwards, I switched to Changbai Mountain Tianchi. I couldn’t frame the panoramic view of Tianchi with just a telephoto lens, so all the photos of Tianchi were taken with my mobile phone. And when I went to the west slope of Tianchi, I had to climb 1400 meters on my own. There were only a few steps to reach the top, so after some thought I decided not to bring my camera and stay in the hotel. It turned out to be a wise choice. Summary of this trip: I personally will still carry a professional camera when my energy and physical strength allow, but I will make sure to plan the usage scenarios reasonably to avoid blindly carrying heavy loads. Finally, two groups of photos are attached, one taken with a chipmunk camera and one taken with a Xiaomi Mi 17U in Tianchi. The results are for reference only.

Takiya (+10) On this trip, I brought my camera but decided to leave it at the hotel.

This time I went to Henan, I actually brought a lot of photography equipment. Sony FX30, A7M3, lenses include 24-105mm F4, Sigma 16mm F1.4 and 56mm F1.4, and Godox flash. But when I was preparing to go out at the hotel the next day, I thought about it for a long time and finally decided to leave all these devices behind, except for the smaller Pocket 4P, Action 6 and Shadowstone X5.

There are actually many reasons. First of all, this time I went to “Only Henan·Drama Fantasy City”. It is somewhat similar to Universal Studios. It mainly focuses on watching performances, visiting parks, and experiencing content. It is not the kind of travel destination that focuses on natural scenery. I feel like in a place like this, the camera doesn’t have that much room to play. Secondly, I’m really fed up with the feeling of carrying a bunch of equipment out to play.

When I used to travel, I would often carry my camera, lens, and flash on my back for a whole day. I was really happy when I was shooting, but I was also really tired after a day of walking. What’s even worse is that I shot a lot of material and couldn’t edit it at all in the end. The video captured by the camera needs to be imported into the computer, color corrected, and edited. When I first came back, I thought I would finish it in two days, but after two days I felt that there were too many materials and I was too lazy to sort them out. As time goes by, I don’t want to move anymore. In the end, these materials sit on the hard drive forever and may never be opened again. Thinking about it, it’s actually quite a pity that I spent so much energy documenting my travels, but in the end I didn’t even read much of them.

And the picture quality on these little devices is really pretty good these days. This time I made a simple division of labor for them: Pocket 4P is responsible for handheld shooting, mainly recording what I said to the camera, as well as what I saw and thought at the time. It is small and can be taken by picking it up; Action 6 has been kept in the car for self-driving to shoot in-car chats and time-lapse on the road; Shadowstone X5 was borrowed from a friend, and I had high expectations. After shooting, I found that the time-lapse video could not directly track the subject like ordinary video, which was a bit disappointing. As for the photos, this time I basically took them with my mobile phone.

Although I still carried my bag into the park, because I didn’t need to carry a camera or lens, all the space in the bag was used for food. Fruit, bread, snacks, and even a small folding mazza. When the people traveling with me saw me taking out a matza from my bag, their pupils were shocked. But it turns out that this thing is really more practical than carrying an extra lens in a park where you need to walk all day and queue up to watch performances.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that I won’t like FX30 and A7M3 in the future. If I really want to take pictures of natural scenery, or if I have a clear creative plan, I will definitely still be willing to carry them out. But if it’s just an ordinary trip, especially to an experience-based attraction like this, I probably won’t bring a camera with me anymore.

black yu (+10) I bring my Switch and laptop with me every time I go out, but they are basically just used to occupy space. I always say I won’t bring so many next time, but I still think “what if” next time I go out.

The last eight mad dogs (+8) I didn’t bring anything with me except my mobile phone this time. Firstly, I was laid off and there was no need for work. Secondly, the low-cost airline I purchased only had a 7KG carry-on allowance. I only brought two sets of clothes with me after traveling in Malaysia for 10 days. I didn’t check in or take pictures. I just chatted with the locals and went wherever they recommended. It was simple and the most comfortable trip I had ever had.

Cangchen Yonggu (+7) Books. I thought about reading it on the road or in the hotel, but I didn’t look at it… Later I found a way to use it: when I went to Shanxi to see ancient buildings, I picked up “Stone Making in the Six Dynasties” and “Wood and Bone Zen Heart” from Duku’s “Architectural Epic”. I took it out to read when I was riding in the car or staying in the hotel at night. It was very interesting to find corresponding points in the ancient buildings during the day.

Ren Damiao (+5) I saw a lot of people talking about Switch. I really kept playing Switch on the road this time. It’s embarrassing because the high-speed train I took was relatively short and more than 2 hours was just right for playing games. However, after returning to my hometown, the game console basically ate dust. Then there is the laptop, which is really getting dusty and I haven’t used it even once I went back.

Mu Zhi ah (+4) I brought a laptop, but I was forced to work overtime as expected; I brought a power bank, which is indispensable for visiting scenic spots. The only thing that didn’t come in handy was a small cell phone selfie stick. I didn’t bring any other items, so I basically made the best use of them.

Brother Xiaoliang (+3) I brought an iPad mini 7 and a MacBook Air with me this time, but I only used the mini 7 to read books on WeChat and watch TV shows. The heaviest computer was actually superfluous.

AustinStudio (+3) I usually use 20-70 when hanging up, and I rarely use 70-200 when I carry it, mainly because it’s troublesome to change lenses.

ZhangKai (+2) I went to Brazil and brought 600 f6.3, 100-400, 35mm, Insta360 GO Ultra, and DJI Pocket 3. The 35mm and Pocket 3 were useless throughout the process. Then the MacBook is rarely used, but the 8.8-inch OPPO Pad mini is highly used.

otacon (+2) Although I bought the NS 2 earlier, it is still too heavy for going out. This time I only brought NS Lite, and when I had nothing to do, I would use Peace Walker.

Tsubonatsu (+2) Not using a power bank this time is the result of the superposition of game rhythm and mobile phone functions:

Travel rhythm: In the past, I usually planned a whole-day route. This time I went to Tengchong. The range of travel was relatively small. Generally, I would go to one place in the morning. After lunch, I would go back to the hotel to rest, and then go out again in the afternoon. During the lunch break, I could just charge my mobile phone.

Mobile phone functions: I used Apple and the charging speed was a bit slow. Now I have switched to Huawei. The fast charging function is really great for someone who has been an Apple user for almost 9 years. In the first few days, I still carried the power bank with me, but in the next few days, I left it in the hotel and left it alone.

tzystan (+1) DJI Action 5 Pro. I thought I could take photos and videos with the iPhone. In fact, the camera capabilities and video capabilities of the iPhone are very useful and convenient. Especially when shooting food, the DJI is basically useless (it can’t focus and has no telephoto). However, I will still bring the DJI with me when I go to tourist destinations that mainly focus on scenery.

Minority 83470920 (+1) Please take 3 days off and take 12 days off. I am on an island hopping trip in Thailand. I didn’t dare to touch my 16-inch MacBook Pro.

AdamXL07 (+1) During the National Day, I went to Japan to watch the electronic music festival for 9 days. The M43 camera I brought with me only had the telephoto lens, which I used a few times. It rained too much and I didn’t use it for street sweeping. The card charging head and mobile phone holder were also useless. One of them took up too much plug space, and the other was too heavy. What I regret most this time is that I didn’t bring an action camera. It was too inconvenient to use my mobile phone to record when watching a show or being in a hurry during the trip (I almost didn’t record in the next few days of this trip).

Yinx (+1) I have brought Luna Ultra, and X-S20 has its own advantages. If you are a blogger, it is really suitable to carry Luna with you. I brought the Switch 2 and only used it on the plane.

verotheus (+1) During the entire self-driving journey, my mobile phone was fully charged every time I got off the car. Even if I climbed a mountain for several hours, a large power bank would still be unusable. It was just too heavy to use, so I just needed to bring a small, ultra-light power bank.

Don’t mess with the little guy (+1) During my trip to western Sichuan, I bought Ben Alai’s “History of the West Highlands”, but I found that most of the routes were different from mine. After reading it for a while, I couldn’t read it anymore. I didn’t have the energy to read it when I got to the plateau, so it became a brick in my backpack🧱.

However, since Byte is a company that started out as a media company and has reached the first echelon, it is impossible not to know that such an announcement will have the effect of forcing moral public opinion. It can only be said that this is a conspiracy, and it cannot be blamed for the time being. After all, even if the Douyin e-commerce company was sued and lost by Kong Kong, it returned the money to Kong Kong, and secretly changed the terms for someone (but did not change the whole thing and was found to want to fine the commission)… So I personally prefer Byte that it was intentional.
